The Poncan Theatre has entertained and enthralled audiences for almost a
century. Just touring the theatre itself will bring gasps of awe with its
tasteful mix of art deco, classical Roman and medieval architecture. The Poncan
Theatre has been restored to its 1927 look, but has been modernized for today’s
use. The Poncan Theatre’s eclectic offerings meet the varied needs of the
community and range from standing-room-only shows, to unique fill showings, to
sell-out musical reviews. The Poncan Theatre also hosts events sponsored by the
Ponca City Arts and Humanities Council and the Ponca City Concert Series.

The Poncan Opry returns to the stage of The Poncan Theater on
Saturday, February 4, 2012. This show is the December 2011 make-up show
and concludes the 2011 season.
The Poncan Opry Band will be led by experienced musician Bucky Fowler.
“We are excited about some changes that we have planned for the shows in
2012” said Fowler. “We are broadening the format to include a wider
variety of music for all audiences to enjoy.” Along with traditional
Classic Country, there will also be Today's Country, Classic Rock 'n
Roll, Rhythm 'n Blues, Bluegrass and Gospel.
The Opry band is made up of Bucky Fowler on lead guitar and vocal; Kurt
Graber, steel guitar; Bill Brown, bass guitar; Chuck Case, drums; and
vocalists Kathy Brown, Karla Fowler, Kristine Saner, Kelcy Mohr and
Kandace Sovereign.
The February 4 performance will feature exclusively the Poncan Opry
Band.
“Our goal is to be the best Opry in the Midwest and we are well on our
way with the talents of the Poncan Opry Band” said Mike Withrow, a
member of the Poncan Theatre board. The Poncan Opry is a Poncan Theatre
Signature Event.
Individual performance tickets at $16 for adults and $8.00 for children.
Season tickets are $99 is on sale now with the 2012 Poncan Opry Season
starting on Saturday, March 3….featuring The Poncan Opry Band with
special guest Stormy Bennett.
